The Norfolk X Flanders collaboration beer goes live this Friday 25 October at The Plough, and you are all invited!
Join us from 6pm at The Plough, St Benedicts, Norwich when you can try samples of modern Belgian beers brewed by our brewery twins in and around Leuven. We’ll have beers from Adept, Braxatorium Parcensis and Hof Ten Dormaal – all free to try whilst we wait for the beer launch at 7pm.
The beer has been inspired by the Strangers who came over from the 15th century to Norwich from the lowlands in Holland and Belgium, bringing with them their skills within the textile industry. Over the following centuries, Norwich became well known for its textiles, including the madder dye ‘Norwich Red’ famously sold at the market in the city, now home to the MadderMarket theatre. The Strangers’ influence can be seen all around the city if you look up at many of the buildings, noticing the Flemish gable ends.
On the night, you’ll see a live steam to the taproom at Brouwerij de Coureur in Leuven, Belgium, as we countdown and join our Belgian brewing buddies in launching our new beer ‘Strangers’ Red’ from both sides of the channel.
From 7pm we’ll be giving away some tasters of both the Norfolk and Flanders version of the beer so you can discover the difference in local water and ingredients.
Joining us will be the other Norfolk collaborating breweries Moongazer, Tindall Ales and Poppyland Brewery.
Food will be available from our BBQ shack with Sundogs Streetfood , and there will be plenty of Grain beers to enjoy too, and for the night owls, there’ll be music into the night courtesy of 1901 Sound.
